Ocular Fish Hook Injuries

Engaged both as an occupation and a pastime, fishing boasts widespread popularity across the globe. Sir Isaac Walton eloquently characterized fishing as "the contemplative man's recreation" [1]. Despite its relative rarity, ocular injuries resulting from fishing can lead to profound trauma, and the safe extraction of a lodged hook poses considerable challenges [2,3]. Regrettably, fishing-related ocular injuries often go underestimated and underreported as contributors to visual impairment.
