We would like to express our gratitude for the attention and comments from our colleagues from the United Kingdom. Their contribution has raised a “hot topic” beyond the recently published long-term results of prophylactic mesh in end colostomy formation.1,2 It explores a supplementary unanswered question: Which is the best way to create a stoma?
