Goals of Care: A Patient Centered Assessment

Providing timely, compassionate care for geriatric hip fracture patients is challenging. Continued efforts should be taken to encourage communication at key points of patient care to better discuss prognosis and recovery that focus on patients ’ goals and values. The scenarios as well as the patients’ preferences vary, so a patient-centered assessment of their goals of care is essential.
