Tackling Costly Fearful Avoidance Using Pavlovian Counterconditioning

This study supports application of a simple counterconditioning technique, shows that its efficacy transfers to more complex avoidance situations, and suggests treatment may benefit from increasing reward drive in combination with extinction to overcome avoidance.
