Radiology Residencies Should Not Use Situational Judgement Tests

Should diagnostic radiology residency programs begin requiring situational judgment tests? One of the traditional complaints in medical school and residency program candidate selection has been an overreliance on standardized metrics. In medical school admissions, candidates have often been sorted and selected largely on the basis of two factors, grade point average and Medical College Admission Test score. Likewise, residency programs have often relied on a combination of class standing and US Medical Licensing Examination Step 1, and more recently Step 2, scores.
