Cooling Research Fever in Dermatology —The Role of Community Service—Reply

In Reply We appreciate the thoughtful response by Zhang et al to our article and agree with their points. Community service is extremely relevant to dermatology and should be highlighted as a way for trainees to explore dermatology, serve and learn about diverse communities and their needs, and improve the field and our care of patients. As more and more residency programs implement mission-driven holistic review, we imagine that many will add community service as a specific target for student engagement. Reinforcing and sustaining this will take collaboration from educational leaders and others across the field of dermatology.
