Abstract No. 102 Pre-operative Uterine Fibroid Embolization Before Hysteroscopic Myomectomy in Patients with Large Intracavitary Fibroids: A Case Series

Many interventional radiologists hesitate to perform UFE in patients with symptomatic intracavitary fibroids of significant size due to concern for increased post-procedural complications, including expulsion of residual fibroid tissue, endometritis, and sepsis. While hysteroscopic resection of intracavitary fibroids can provide definitive management, success of this procedure alone is limited by the size of the fibroid, degree of intramural extension, and presence of multiple fibroids. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of combination pre-operative UFE prior to hysteroscopic myomectomy in patients with large intracavitary fibroids.
