Role of the industry representative in the practice of gastroenterology and GI endoscopy

The practice of gastroenterology and GI endoscopy has evolved over the last several decades with numerous scientific and technologic advances in medical therapies, procedural devices, and techniques. Optimal patient care requires clinicians to adopt these new therapeutic tools as evidence-based medicine demonstrates improvement in clinical and patient reported outcomes. For GI endoscopy, providers and staff engage in delivering endoscopic services ranging from basic general endoscopic procedures in an ambulatory surgical center to advanced and more complex interventions performed in inpatient endoscopy facilities.
