Let's give more value to reviewing activities

Finding reviewers has become an increasingly difficult business for editors and associate editors although most academics seem to agree that peer review still represents the best possible way of scientific quality control. The JSAMS core editorial board (Deputy Editors and Editor-in-Chief) has already commented on this in the April/May issue.2 Our main conviction is that reviewing activities are not sufficiently valued in academia and that this is - at least in parts - explaining the above described problem.
