Intraindividual Comparison Of An Enhanced Monofocal And An Aspheric Monofocal Intraocular Lens Of The Same Platform
In cataract surgery, the most commonly intraocular lens (IOL) used is a monofocal optic to produce one single focus point on the retina, typically for far-distance vision, followed by spectacle correction for near or intermediate distances. Monofocal IOLs are widely used and exhibit low rates of adverse photic phenomena.1 In contrast to monofocal IOLs, multifocal IOLs are designed to achieve two or three focal points, enhancing unaided vision at various distances, using a bifocal or trifocal optic respectively.
