Patellofemoral pain syndrome assessed by Lysholm score, radiological and biorheometric measurements

Patellofemoral disorders are defined by pain, dysfunction, imbalance, inflammation, or instability in some components of the knee extension function [1], and are called anterior knee pain syndrome or patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). This syndrome is possible to diagnose by a clinical [2,3] or radiological [4,5] assessment. However, clinical experience suggests that the results of imaging have limited relation to clinical signs [6], tests often do not correlate with the severity of clinical signs [7] and there is an unclear PFPS classification scheme [8].
