Graves ’ disease: Unveiling a novel etiology of secondary hyperparathyroidism

Patients with Graves' disease (GD) can display hyperparathyroidism (HPT). Despite the growing awareness of HPT occurring alongside GD, no studies have investigated the relationship between GD secondary to HPT.1,2 Its clinical significance and optimal management remain poorly defined. There remains a gap in the literature regarding a comprehensive evaluation of this association, and the outcomes of thyroidectomy in such cases. Herein, we present four cases of secondary HPT caused by GD who were successfully treated through thyroidectomy alone.
