Is the combination of cryotherapy and topical timolol solution superior to cryotherapy alone in the treatment of epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor-induced paronychia? A double-blinded, left-to-right comparison, randomized controlled trial

To the Editor: Topical β-blockers are potentially effective treatments for epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor (EGFRi)-induced paronychia. Previous studies investigating their efficacy were case series with conflicting results.1,2 Olamiju et al3 had demonstrated that topical β-blockers may have limited efficacy as monotherapy and should be used as an adjunctive therapy. Therefore, we conducted a double-blinded, left-to-right comparison, randomized controlled trial to investigate the efficacy of topical β-blocker combined with cryotherapy for the treatment of EGFRi-induced paronychia.
