Assessing quality of contraceptive counseling at a population level: an opportunity to inform equitable care delivery

Patient-reported quality of contraceptive counseling is an overlooked indicator for evaluating how well reproductive healthcare services are meeting people ’s needs. Measurement of this care dimension is key to documenting disparities in contraceptive care delivery and identifying policy and programmatic priorities that will ensure equitable care delivery. We used the validated four-item Person-Centered Contraceptive Counseling measure (PCCC) to exam ine contraceptive care experiences in two states.
