Analysis of geological glasses by electron probe microanalysis under low beam current density conditions

J. Anal. At. Spectrom., 2023, Advance Article DOI: 10.1039/D3JA00183K, PaperJi-Hao Zhu, Feng-You Chu, Klaus Peter Jochum, Xiu-Chun Zhan, Xing Ding, Bin Wu, Jiang-Gu Lu, Yun-Xiu Li, Yan-Hui Dong, Ji-Qiang Liu, Yu-Qi Wang, Shi-Tou Wu An electron probe microanalysis method was developed to mitigate alkali ion migration effects under low beam current density conditions with a time-saving mode to collect alkali-ion X-ray signals. The method is suitable for estimating H2O content in H2O-rich geological glasses as a substitute technique for SIMS and FTIR.
