Celebrating Diversity in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG)

I have just returned from the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG) Annual Clinical and Research Meeting (ACRM) which was held in Nashville, Tennessee, and I was particularly struck by the diversity among attendees, as well as the diversity of topics that were presented. A diverse workforce in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) should reflect the diversity of the patients we see in order to provide patient-centered care with cultural humility. A diverse workforce may help to reduce health disparities, as the scientific literature suggests that medical care from providers who share the racial and ethnic background of their patients can lead to better outcomes and help to address disparities.
