Nasal flu vaccine may help reduce cases of group A strep in primary school children, UKHSA (published 16th December 2022)

Analysis (2013-2017) found lower rates of group A strep (GAS) infections in pilot areas which rolled out flu vaccine vs non-pilot areas (2 –4-year-olds; GAS 73.5 vs 93/100,000 children; 5–10-year-olds; GAS 50.3 vs 57.8) but with no difference in scarlet fever/invasive GAS rates.
