Standardized Patient Simulation for More Effective Undergraduate Nursing Education: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

The health care environment is changing rapidly, and medical technology is developing continuously. Thus, nurses must have high-level problem-solving and communication skills to care for patients with complex health problems (Fogg,  Kubin, Wilson,& Trinka, 2020). However, observation-based training in clinical settings has become limited due to time constraints, patient privacy protection and infection control issues, and increasing demands for medical services (Hayden,  Smiley, Alexander, Kardong-Edgren,& Jeffries, 2014; Lim,  2015).
