Female Aesthetic Genital Procedures

It is a great honor that I have been asked to be the guest editor for the first Female Aesthetic Genital Procedures issue of the Clinics in Plastic Surgery. Including this new controversial field among the more traditional plastic surgery topics once and for all validates its existence. In 1998, I performed my first labiaplasty on a young woman encumbered with large labia minora after reading Gary Alter ’s article on the wedge technique. The surgery went well, but what truly struck me was how happy and confident the patient was afterward.
