Hybrid revascularization vs coronary bypass for coronary artery disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Our analysis shows hybrid coronary revascularization is a feasible alternative to traditional coronary artery bypass grafting. Short-and long-term outcomes including mortality, MACE, and postoperative morbidity are similar between both groups, while hybrid approaches are associated with decreased perioperative morbidity.PMID:35343660 | DOI:10.23736/S0021-9509.22.12163-4

External stenting of saphenous vein grafts for coronary artery bypass: a single-center analysis of clinical outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: Clinical outcomes with external SVG stenting are excellent without ischemia-driven targetvessel revascularization at 1 year, and low rates of repeat revascularization at 3 years. Further follow-up will show whether external stenting reduces SVG failure with a benefit on long-term clinical outcomes.PMID:35005876 | DOI:10.23736/S0021-9509.22.12008-2

A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies comparing off-pump versus on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting in the elderly
CONCLUSIONS: Data from RCTs in elderly patients showed that OPCAB and ONCAB provide similar mid-term results. OPCAB was associated with a higher risk of early rerevascularization. As CABG on the elderly is still insufficiently explored, further RCTs, specifically designed targeting this population, are needed to establish a better CABG strategy for these patients.PMID:34792312 | DOI:10.23736/S0021-9509.21.12012-9

Medical malpractice in aortic valve and mitral valve replacement surgery in North America
CONCLUSIONS: In addition to excellent surgeon patient/family communication, administering surgical treatment in a timely manner, diagnosing and acting on concomitant medical conditions, and close patient monitoring may diminish medical malpractice litigation involving aortic and mitral valve replacement operations.PMID:34338496 | DOI:10.23736/S0021-9509.21.11945-7
