Complex decision-making in stroke: preoperative mechanical thrombectomy of septic embolus for emergency cardiac valve surgery
We report a case of cardioembolic stroke in a patient with enterococcal endocarditis, with National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score of 3. A middle-aged patient with bacterial endocarditis exhibited mild intermittent left hemiparesis and dysarthria in the setting of severe aortic insufficiency requiring urgent aortic valve replacement. Cerebrovascular imaging revealed a partially occlusive thrombus in the M1 segment of the right middle cerebral artery, which became symptomatic during relative hypotension. Given the expected hypotension during the urgently needed aortic valve replacement, there was a significant risk...

P-008 on intent to treat adapt technique for 201 cases of anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke
We report our single center experience results of endovascular treatment of anterior circulation of ischemic stroke by the technique of direct aspiration.MethodsBetween September 2013 to March 2015 we reviewed the data of 201 patients presenting with large vessels anterior circulation occlusion for which the ADAPT technique was utilized in first intention and was associated with stentriever technique when necessary. Procedural and clinical data were collected for analysis. An univariate analysis of the following factors: Age, prior antiplatelet or anticoagulative therapy, localisation of the occlusion, an intravenous throm...

P-031 Single Center Experience with the ADAPT Technique for Acute Ischemic Stroke
We report our single center experience of endovascular treatment of stroke by a technique of direct aspiration with large bore catheter. Methods From September 2013 to March 2014 we included prospectively on intent to treat 80 patients presenting with large vessels occlusion in the settings of acute ischemic stroke. The ADAPT technique was utilised in first intention in all patients and was associated with stentriever technique when necessary. Procedural and clinical data were collected for analysis. Results Patients presented with an admitting median National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score of 15 (1&ndas...
