Conclusion: Veterans undergoing AF ablation are typically older with more comorbidities than the general AF ablation population. Despite these variations, overall outcomes for AF ablation in the VHA are comparable to outcomes in the general population.

Abstract 359: Duke Activity Status Index is Sensitive to Non-Fatal Adverse Cardiac Events when Evaluating Patient Outcome at Late Follow-up Session Title: Poster Session III
Conclusions: This study demonstrates that in cardiac surgical patients, a low score on DASI is independently associated with a higher occurrence of late non-fatal cardiac events. This provides further evidence supporting the use of the DASI questionnaire in evaluating patient functioning after cardiac surgery.

Conclusion: Warfarin TTR ≥55% was associated with the greatest reduction in stroke/SE among the antithrombotic treatment groups examine here. Future studies should examine modifiable factors to improve outcomes for patients with warfarin TTR <55% or those who are off antithrombotic therapy.

Abstract 351: Optimizing the Frequency of Surveillance Echocardiography in Clinically Stable Patients With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Session Title: Poster Session III
Conclusions: In select clinically stable patients with HCM, repeat echo may be unlikely to identify significant changes or impact practice. In these patients, a decreased frequency of echocardiography could decrease resource utilization without compromising care. Ongoing data collection and better risk stratification tools may allow more targeted surveillance strategies in the future.

Conclusion: This study represents the largest clinical experience of the safety of thrombolysis in patients on prior antiplatelet therapy. Despite a higher incidence of sICH, the absolute excess risk appears small (0.67%). These findings support current guideline recommendations regarding use of intravenous tPA in patients on antiplatelet therapy with careful weighing of potential risk and benefit.

Conclusion: A substantial percentage of patients deemed "too good" for IV tPA were unable to be discharged home. Factors such as advanced age and higher NIHSS should be considered in tPA decision-making to optimize outcomes. Large, multi-center prospective studies are underway to study the predictors of poor outcomes in this group.

Conclusions: AA who are admitted with unexplained syncope are identified according to the SELF pathway as high risk group that can likely be attributed to the presence of comorbidities and warrants hospitalization for further work-up and optimizing medical management.

Conclusion: Secondary prevention ASA use in primary care settings remains high, but ASA use for primary prevention of cardiovascular events is low. Despite creation of national guidelines, aspirin use in the PP population is half the rate of ASA use for secondary prevention. Additional methods to safely and effectively disseminate this primary prevention aspirin use recommendation, targeting both the public and health care providers, are warranted.

Conclusions: The SELF-pathway for patients with syncope helps identify at-risk subgroups in our patient population. Females with SELF-2 criteria (Structural heart disease, abnormal ECG, arrhythmia) had significantly worse long-term outcome compared to males regardless of manner of syncopal presentation.
