Biological therapies (immunomodulatory drugs), worsening of psoriasis and rebound effect: new evidence of similitude.
CONCLUSION: As well as studied in other classes of drugs, the rebound effect of biologic agents supports the principle of similitude (primary action of the drugs followed by secondary action and opposite of the organism). PMID: 27914574 [PubMed - in process]

Treatment with Ruta graveolens 5CH and Rhus toxicodendron 9CH may reduce joint pain and stiffness linked to aromatase inhibitors in women with early breast cancer: results of a pilot observational study.
CONCLUSION: These preliminary results suggest that treatment with Ruta graveolens 5CH and Rhus toxicodendron 9CH may decrease joint pain/stiffness in breast cancer patients treated with AIs. A larger-scale randomized study is required to confirm these results. PMID: 27914569 [PubMed - in process]

Action of antibiotic oxacillin on in  vitro growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) previously treated with homeopathic medicines.
CONCLUSIONS: Cultures of MRSA treated with Belladonna or MRSA nosode exhibited reduced growth in vitro, reduced enzymatic activity and became more vulnerable to the action of the antibiotic oxacillin. Further studies are needed on the biomolecular basis of these effects. PMID: 28325220 [PubMed - in process]

Generalisability of prognostic factor research: further analysis of data from the IIPCOS2 study.
Abstract Prognostic factor research is important as it helps in refining diagnosis, taking clinical and therapeutic decisions, enhances the design and analysis of intervention trials and helps to identify targets for new interventions that aim to modify the course of a disease. Prognostic factor research in homeopathy can be done by applying Bayes' theorem. This paper considers Bayes' theorem; Likelihood Ratio, conditional probability and research in subpopulations of a condition with examples. We analysed the likelihood ratios for 11 homeopathic medicines for the symptom 'cough' and other upper respiratory tract ...

Management of Anxiety and Depressive Disorders in Patients ≥ 65 Years of Age by Homeopath General Practitioners versus Conventional General Practitioners, with Overview of the EPI3-LASER Study Results.
CONCLUSIONS:  Management of ADD patients aged ≥ 65 years by GP-Ho appears to have a real public health interest in terms of effectiveness and lower psychotropic drug use. PMID: 29558779 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Water-Related Mechanisms Proposed for Storing and Transmitting Homeopathic Information: Putative Links with Biological Responses.
CONCLUSION:  Further studies are needed to ascertain whether and which of these hypotheses may be related to potential cellular effects of homeopathic preparations, such as organization of metabolic pathways or selective gene expression. PMID: 29768636 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Response to Individualized Homeopathic Treatment for Depression in Climacteric Women with History of Domestic Violence, Marital Dissatisfaction or Sexual Abuse: Results from the HOMDEP-MENOP Study.
CONCLUSIONS:  Individualized homeopathic treatment is associated with response to depression treatment in climacteric women with high levels of domestic violence, sexual abuse or marital dissatisfaction. Further studies should be conducted to evaluate its efficacy specifically for post-traumatic stress disorder in battered women. CLINICALTRIALS. GOV IDENTIFIER: NCT01635218,:  URL: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01635218?term=depression+homeopathy&rank=1. PMID: 29871025 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Biological Actions, Electrical Conductance and Silicon-Containing Microparticles of Arsenicum Album Prepared in Plastic and Glass Vials.
CONCLUSION:  The non-specific, pro-inflammatory effects might be attributed to organic residuals detached from the vials' plastic walls during manipulation. Instead, specific silica-independent effects of the homeopathic medicine can be attributed to the decrease of interleukin-6 after treatment with the 200th centesimal dilution of arsenic. Why Is the Healing of Emotional Problems So Difficult?
CONCLUSION:  Emotional healing becomes more plausible when the patient's inner strength attains the level of strength of the disturbance, represented by "level of potency", which allows the patient to cope with his/her disturbance more successfully. A Qualitative Investigation of Provers' Experiences of Participation in Homeopathic Pathogenetic Trials.
CONCLUSION:  Former provers who participated in this study reported enthusiasm for, and trust in, the proving process. However, some also reported adverse events, which varied in intensity and duration. The process of gaining fully informed consent for participation in an HPT is complex and there were examples of both failure and inadequacy in terms of informed consent and support mechanisms. RECOMMENDATIONS:  The researchers recommend that HPTs are subject to ethical approval processes and that consent is fully informed and ongoing. It is also recommended that appropriate and robust support mechanisms be develope...

Five Years of Practical Experience Using the Revised Proving Guidelines of the Hom œopathic Pharmacopœia Convention of the United States.
Five Years of Practical Experience Using the Revised Proving Guidelines of the Homœopathic Pharmacopœia Convention of the United States. Homeopathy. 2020 Mar 15;: Authors: Hoover TA Abstract The Homœopathic Pharmacopœia of the United States (HPUS) is one of the three officially recognized compendia of medical drugs in the United States. A well-conducted homeopathic proving is one pathway to entry into the HPUS. In 2013, guidelines for homeopathic drug provings were updated to better assess the methodology of provings and improve the confidence in the outcomes generated. In addition, the team who d...

Preparing and Presenting Journal Club Content: An Essential Component of Homeopathic Learning.
Abstract Homeopathic education has passed through significant incremental changes in the past few years, where especially postgraduate education has become increasingly slanted toward advanced knowledge of clinical work and research methods. Among many educational activities, a great source of learning is from presenting at or attending a journal club meeting, which is a gathering of people to learn and to critically appraise a journal article or other study material. There has been little previous guidance in homeopathy regarding how to prepare and present journal club content. Selection of a suitable topic is on...

Preparation and Standardization of Escherichia coli Nosodes Sourced from Select E. coli Strains.
CONCLUSION:  Different variants of E. coli nosodes were systematically and scientifically prepared and standardized using the cultures. Homeopathic pathogenetic trials, in-vitro efficacy studies, and clinical evaluation of E. coli nosodes (single, trivalent, or polyvalent nosodes) will be required in future.
