Endovascular thrombectomy for ischemic stroke with large core volume: An updated, post-TESLA systematic review and meta-analysis of the randomized trials
CONCLUSIONS: Although the rate of sICH was greater in the EVT group, EVT conferred a greater clinical benefit to MEDT for AIS-EBI based on available RCTs.PMID:37376869 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231185738

An artificial intelligence (AI)-based approach to clinical trial recruitment: The impact of Viz RECRUIT on enrollment in the EMBOLISE trial
CONCLUSION: The implementation of an AI-based software for the automatic screening of SDH patients increased the enrollment rate in the EMBOLISE trial, and the software performed well in a real-world, clinical trial setting.PMID:37350052 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231184604

Carotid artery stenting using a 7 French Optimo balloon guide catheter combined with a distal filter
CONCLUSIONS: The 7 F Optimo is the smallest BGC to achieve CAS using a proximal protection system. The combined use of a 7 F Optimo BGC and a distal filter is effective for navigating the BGC and distal embolic protection.PMID:37322893 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231162493

A novel method for preparing clot analogs under dynamic vortical flow for testing mechanical thrombectomy devices
CONCLUSIONS: Dynamic clots generated in dynamic vortical flow differ significantly from static clots in terms of their composition and mechanical properties, which may be beneficial information for preclinical research on mechanical thrombectomy devices.PMID:37309134 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231182850

Outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy at a single-centre tertiary level public healthcare hospital in South Africa
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated similar rates of recanalisation and functional independence to that seen in trials in high-income countries using basic imaging despite a higher mortality and longer median time to reperfusion. This data supports the effectiveness of MT in a tertiary level public hospital in South Africa despite the challenges of providing emergent stroke care in a resource-constrained setting.PMID:37259571 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231178163
