Mechanical thrombectomy in anterior vs. posterior circulation stroke: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: MT achieves similar rates of recanalization with a similar safety profile in PC-LVO and AC-LVO patients. Patients with PC-LVO are less likely to achieve functional independence after MT. Future studies should identify PC-LVO patients who are likely to achieve favourable functional outcomes.PMID:35549748 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221100796

Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensity-diffusion-weighted imaging mismatch and functional outcome after endovascular reperfusion therapy for acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with large FVH-DWI mismatch had good functional outcome after EVT for acute ICA or MCA-M1 occlusion.PMID:35903941 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221113900

5F SOFIA intermediate catheter in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: A retrospective observational study
CONCLUSION: 5F SOFIA intermediate catheter could be a safe and effective treatment for AIS and a viable alternative to 6 F conventional intermediate catheters in selected cases.PMID:35929099 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221118145

In vitro models for the experimental evaluation of mechanical thrombectomy devices in acute ischemic stroke
Interv Neuroradiol. 2022 Aug 15:15910199221118404. doi: 10.1177/15910199221118404. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMechanical thrombectomy has become an important method for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke for large vessel occlusions. The current hotspots of mechanical thrombectomy are optimizing the treatment methods, improving the recanalization rate and reducing complications. The in vitro model has become a common and convenient method for mechanical thrombectomy research. This review summarizes the in vitro model in the following aspects: the preparation of clot analogues; the experimental platform; the applicati...

Early neurological deterioration as a predictor of outcomes after endovascular thrombectomy for stroke: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Broadly defined, END holds value as a potential predictor of rates of mRS 0-2 at 90 days and is associated with higher rates of mortality and sICH, but had no correlation with TICI 2b-3.PMID:36285526 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221135289
