Resources available for parent-provider vaccine communication in pregnancy in Canada: a scoping review
Conclusion The study suggests a need for resources in Canada to improve VIP communication skills and improve access to vaccination information for HCPs and pregnant individuals. The absence of such resources may hinder VIP uptake.

Pregnancy exposure registries for drugs and vaccines in low-income and middle-income countries: scoping review protocol
Introduction Data regarding the safety of drugs and vaccines in pregnant women are typically unavailable before licensure. Pregnancy exposure registries (PERs) are an important source of postmarketing safety information. PERs in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) are uncommon but can provide valuable safety data regarding their distinct contexts and will become more relevant as the introduction and use of new drugs and vaccines in pregnancy increase worldwide. Strategies to support PERs in LMICs must be based on a better understanding of their current status. We developed a scoping review protocol to assess the...

Health inequalities in infectious diseases: a systematic overview of reviews
Conclusion We identified many reviews that provide evidence of various types of health inequalities in different infectious diseases, vaccination, and antimicrobial resistance. We also highlight areas where reviews may be lacking. The commonalities in the associations and their directions suggest it might be worth targeting interventions for some high risk-groups that may have benefits across multiple infectious disease outcomes rather than operating purely in infectious disease siloes.

Communication strategies to improve human papillomavirus (HPV) immunisation uptake among adolescents in sub-Saharan Africa: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusion HPV vaccine communication is critical in ensuring that the community understands the importance of vaccination. The most effective communication strategies included those which educate the population about the HPV vaccine, facilitate decision-making on vaccine uptake and community ownership of the vaccination process immunisation. PROSPERO registration number CRD42021243683.

Characteristics of immunisation support programmes in Canada: a scoping review and environmental scan
Conclusions This review highlighted characteristics of immunisation support programmes across various settings and described multiple facilitators and barriers. These findings can inform future interventions that aim to support Canadians in making decisions about immunisation.

Influence of the COVID-19 pandemic and social media on the behaviour of pregnant and lactating women towards vaccination: a scoping review
Discussion and conclusion Vaccine hesitancy in pregnant and lactating women remains an important issue, expressing the need for effective interventions to increase vaccine confidence and coverage. The role social media plays in vaccine uptake remains unclear.

Mixing age and risk groups for accessing COVID-19 vaccines: a modelling study
Conclusions Mixing age and risk groups outperforms targeting individual groups separately, and optimising the group mix can substantially increase the health benefits of vaccines. Additional policy measures boosting vaccine efficacy are necessary under outbreaks of transmissible variants.

Access to medicine among asylum seekers, refugees and undocumented migrants across the migratory cycle: a scoping review protocol
Introduction Migration creates new health vulnerabilities and exacerbates pre-existing medical conditions. Migrants often face legal, system-related, administrative, language and financial barriers to healthcare, but little is known about factors that specifically influence migrants’ access to medicines and vaccines. This scoping review aims to map existing evidence on access to essential medicines and vaccines among asylum seekers, refugees and undocumented migrants who aim to reach Europe. We will consolidate existing information and analyse the barriers that limit access at the different stages of the migratory ph...

Determinants of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and uptake in sub-Saharan Africa: a scoping review
Conclusions Based on the gaps identified in the scoping review, we propose that future research on determinants of COVID-19 vaccination in SSA should further prioritise the inclusion of access-related variables. We recommend the development and use of standardised research tools that can operationalise, measure and disentangle the complex determinants of vaccine uptake in future studies throughout SSA and other low- and middle-income country (LMIC) settings.

Improving routine childhood immunisation outcomes in low-income and middle-income countries: an evidence gap map
Conclusions There is valuable evidence available to decision-makers for use in identifying and deploying effective strategies to increase routine immunisation in LMICs. However, additional research is needed to address gaps in the evidence base.

Use of community engagement interventions to improve child immunisation in low-income and middle-income countries: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusion Community engagement interventions are successful in improving outcomes related to routine child immunisation. The findings are robust to exclusion of studies assessed as high risk of bias.

COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in periconceptional and lactating women: a systematic review and meta-analysis protocol
This study will review articles on vaccine hesitancy among periconceptional and lactating women to assess the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy during the pandemic. Methods and analysis We will systematically search observational studies from 1 November 2019 to 30 October 2021 in the following databases: Web of Science, PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, EBSCO, WHO COVID-19 Database, CNKI and WanFang Database. The following medical subject headings and free-text terms will be used: "COVID-19 vaccines" AND "female" AND "vaccine hesitancy". Eligibility criteria are as follows: population (women of reproductiv...

Community engagement to support COVID-19 vaccine uptake: a living systematic review protocol
Introduction Widespread vaccination against COVID-19 is one of the most effective ways to control, and ideally, end the global COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccine hesitancy and vaccine rates vary widely across countries and populations and are influenced by complex sociocultural, political, economic and psychological factors. Community engagement is an integral strategy within immunisation campaigns and has been shown to improve vaccine acceptance. As evidence on community engagement to support COVID-19 vaccine uptake is emerging and constantly changing, research that lessens the knowledge-to-practice gap by providing regular and u...

Interventions delivered in secondary or tertiary medical care settings to improve routine vaccination uptake in children and young people: a scoping review
Conclusions Most published studies report improved vaccination coverage associated with opportunistic vaccination interventions in secondary and tertiary care. Children attending hospital appear to have lower baseline vaccination coverage and are likely to benefit from vaccination interventions in these settings. Checking immunisation status is challenging, however, and electronic immunisation registers are required to enable this to be done quickly and accurately in hospital settings. Further research is required in this area, particularly multicentre studies and cost-effectiveness analysis of interventions.

Safety of COVID-19 vaccines in patients with non-communicable diseases: a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials
This study will be according to the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols. A comprehensive search will be carried out to identify registered RCTs in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, ClinicalTrials.gov and Cochrane Library between 1 January 2020 and 31 May 2022. Selection of trials, data extraction, risk of bias assessment and quality of evidence assessment will be done by two researchers, and disagreements will be resolved by the corresponding author. The primary outcomes are local and systemic adverse events of vaccines in patients with NCDs. Additional outcomes are r...
