Efficacy and safety of drug therapy for the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy: a protocol for a systematic review and network meta-analysis
This article describes a protocol for evaluating the efficacy and safety of drug therapy for the prevention and treatment of CIPN. The results of the proposed systematic review with network meta-analysis (NMA) will provide new insights into the prevention and treatment of CIPN. Methods and analysis We will conduct a literature search in MEDLINE, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and ClinicalTrials.gov to find relevant articles published through January 2023. We will include studies that investigated the efficacy and safety of vitamin B12, goshajinkigan, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesi...

Combination immunochemotherapy for recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions Combination immunochemotherapy prolonged OS and PFS in patients with R/M HNSCC and improved the ORR; while this approach did not increase the overall incidence of AEs in patients, it increased the rate of grade III and IV AEs. PROSPERO registration number CRD42022344166.

Pregnancy, obstetrical and neonatal outcomes in women exposed to physician-related occupational hazards: a scoping review
Conclusions There are important limitations in the current evidence examining physician-related occupational hazards and adverse pregnancy, obstetrical and neonatal outcomes. It is not clear how the medical workplace should be accommodated to improve outcomes for pregnant physicians. High-quality studies are needed and likely feasible.

Quality of life in patients with breast cancer with neoadjuvant chemotherapy: a systematic review
Conclusions More original research is needed in future to understand the profile and predictors of QOL in patients with BC on NAC, which will help clinicians and patients make decisions and deal with NAC-related issues.

Toxicities and outcomes of neoadjuvant treatment in elderly patients with locally advanced rectal cancer: a scoping review protocol
Introduction Colorectal cancer remains the second leading cause of cancer-related death in 60–79 years old and the third leading cause of death in patients aged 80 and above. Rectal cancer accounts for approximately a third of colorectal cancer diagnoses. The current standard of care for managing locally advanced rectal cancer involves a multimodal combined approach with neoadjuvant treatment, surgery with total mesorectal excision and adjuvant chemotherapy. Neoadjuvant treatment can be in the form of short-course radiotherapy, long-course concurrent radiotherapy with chemotherapy or total neoadjuvant chemotherapy wi...

Consolidation chemotherapy in postmolar low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia: a systematic review protocol
Introduction Current evidence remains insufficient to strongly demonstrate the benefits of consolidation chemotherapy to all women with low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN). This protocol outlines a systematic review to investigate whether consolidation chemotherapy is necessary for all patients with postmolar low-risk GTN after human chorionic gonadotropin normalisation with first-line single-agent chemotherapy. Methods and analysis A search string will be used to search the PubMed (MEDLINE), EMBASE, Web of Sciences, Scopus, LILACS and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases. Articles will ...

Role of maintenance strategies in advanced epithelial ovarian cancer: a systematic review, network meta-analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis protocol
Introduction Different maintenance strategies have shown efficacy in patients with advanced ovarian cancer, but without drawing any conclusion on which strategy is preferred. Therefore, we will conduct a network meta-analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis to investigate maintenance strategies containing chemotherapy, poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors and anti-angiogenesis therapy for patients with advanced ovarian cancer. Methods and analysis The search strategy to identify potentially relevant studies will include hand searches in EMBASE, PubMed, Cochrane library and Web of science. The primary outcome is ...

Live cumulative network meta-analysis: protocol for second-line treatments in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer with wild-type or unknown status for epidermal growth factor receptor
We present the protocol for a live cumulative network meta-analysis (NMA) to address this need. Methods and analysis We will consider trials of second-line treatments in patients with advanced NSCLC with wild-type or unknown epidermal growth factor receptor status. We will consider any single agent of cytotoxic chemotherapy, targeted therapy, combination of cytotoxic chemotherapy and targeted therapy and any combination of targeted therapies. The primary outcomes will be overall survival and progression-free survival. The live cumulative NMA will be initiated with a NMA and then iterations will be repeated at regular inte...

Clinical impact of neoadjuvant treatment in resectable pancreatic cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis protocol
Introduction Although the only curative strategy for pancreatic cancer is surgical resection, up to 85% of patients relapse after surgery. The efficacy of neoadjuvant treatment in resectable pancreatic cancer (RPC) remains unclear and there is no systematic review focusing fully on this issue. Recently, two prospective trials of neoadjuvant treatment in RPC were terminated early because of slow recruiting and existing randomised controlled trials (RCTs) have too small sample sizes. Therefore, to overcome probable biases, it would be more reasonable to include both RCTs and non-randomised studies (NRSs) with selected criter...
