Safety and efficacy of endovascular treatment for intracranial infectious aneurysms: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusion Our meta-analysis demonstrated that endovascular treatment is technically feasible and effective with high rates of IIA occlusion. Despite the comorbidities of patients, endovascular approach was associated with acceptable rates of procedure-related morbidity and satisfactory rates of overall good neurological outcome.

Absolute and regional cerebral perfusion assessment feasibility in head-down position with arterial spin-labeling magnetic resonance. A preliminary report on healthy subjects
Conclusions Regional CBF assessment, especially in HDT, is challenging with most perfusion techniques because of ionizing radiations, inherent limitations and logistical considerations. This preliminary report presents a noninvasive technique assessing regional and absolute cerebral blood flow changes in response to posture change. It can lead to further clinical investigations for a better understanding of cerebral perfusion.

Radiological and clinical features of cerebral sinovenous thrombosis in newborns and older children
Conclusion Male patients are at higher risk for CSVT than females. In neonates, involvement of the deep venous structures is significantly more common. Brain parenchymal and extraparenchymal changes occur more frequently in this age group than in older children.

Can MRI quantification help evaluate stroke age?
Conclusions The quantification of MRI signal may be a helpful tool for stroke dating but cannot outperform the visual estimation of stroke lesion age.

Radiation dose reduction in perfusion CT imaging of the brain: A review of the literature
Publication date: Available online 10 December 2015 Source:Journal of Neuroradiology Author(s): Ahmed E. Othman, Saif Afat, Marc A. Brockmann, Omid Nikoubashman, Carolin Brockmann, Konstantin Nikolaou, Martin Wiesmann Perfusion CT (PCT) of the brain is widely used in the settings of acute ischemic stroke and vasospasm monitoring. The high radiation dose associated with PCT is a central topic and has been a focus of interest for many researchers. Many studies have examined the effect of radiation dose reduction in PCT using different approaches. Reduction of tube current and tube voltage can be efficient and lead t...

MRI characteristics of carotid bulb atypical fibromuscular dysplasia in black stroke patients
Conclusions aFMD generates a particular MRI pattern in our four patients, which could increase the diagnosis accuracy. Carotid bulb lesion in black stroke patients should suggest aFMD and MRI analysis may contribute to rule out differential diagnoses.

Comparison of susceptibility-weighted and perfusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in the detection of penumbra in acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions DWI-SWI mismatch is a good marker for evaluating ischemic penumbra in stroke patients with cerebral infarction. SWI can detect thrombus in the affected vessels, and may be useful for guiding intra-arterial thrombolytic therapy.

BOLD fMRI of cerebrovascular reactivity in the middle cerebral artery territory: A 100 volunteers’ study
Conclusion LI can effectively help us to overcome measurement variabilities. Therefore, it can be used to detect abnormal asymmetries in CVR and identify patients at higher risk of ischemic stroke.

Parenchymal FLAIR hyperintensity before thrombolysis is a prognostic factor of ischemic stroke outcome at 3 Tesla
Conclusions At 3 Tesla, the presence of a parenchymal hyperintense FLAIR signal before thrombolysis is predictive of a poor clinical outcome at 3 months.
