A Meta-Analysis of Transfemoral versus Transapical Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation on 30-Day and 1-Year Outcomes.
CONCLUSIONS: TF-TAVI had a higher 30-day and 1-year survival rate compared with TA-TAVI, but these differences might be because of the higher Logistic EuroSCORE in TA group. Stroke and major vascular complications rates were higher in TF-TAVI patients at ≤30 days.

Synchronous or Staged Carotid Endarterectomy and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting? Propensity score matched study.
CONCLUSION: In this experience combined with the data given in literature, our findings suggest a possible superiority of the staged CABG/CEA approach. Large, randomized studies are required to verify our findings and to establish applicable guidelines.

Determining Which Prosthetic to Use During Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients Aged Younger than 70 Years: A Systematic Review of the Literature.
CONCLUSIONS: Published literature does not preclude the use of bioprostheses for AVR in younger patients. As new valves are developed, the use of bioprosthetic aortic valves in younger patients will likely continue to expand. Clinical trials are needed to provide surgeons with more accurate guidelines.

The Effects of Amino Acids Enriched Del Nido Cardioplegia on Myocardial Leucocyte Accumulation and Ventricular Functions in Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery
CONCLUSION: Our study findings show that glutamate-aspartate supplemented del Nido cardioplegia significantly decrease myocardial PMNL accumulation with reduced release of biochemical markers, including cardiac troponin-I, TNF-alpha, and Pro-Bnp. Our study results demonstrated that amino acids supplementation in del Nido cardioplegia has some advantages in CABG patients, including the decrease of perioperative myocardial infarction and increase significantly the left ventricular functions including ventricular SVI and CI.PMID:33635267 | DOI:10.1532/hsf.3265
