Immediate Neurophysiological effect of electrical stimulation via dry needling on H-reflex in post stroke spasticity
CONCLUSIONS: Single session of DN, ES, and the DN+IMES can significantly modulate post-stroke spasticity by possible bottom-up regulation mechanisms.PMID:36847265 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2023.2182655

Implementing circuit class training can increase therapy time and functional independence in people with stroke receiving inpatient rehabilitation: findings from a retrospective observational clinical audit
CONCLUSION: This study suggests that the clinical implementation of CCT can significantly increase therapy time by close to 9 minutes per session, with functional gains that are equivalent to usual care. This was achieved with a patient-to-staff ratio of 3:1, compared to the 1:1 ratio in IT, concurring with existing evidence in support of CCT as an alternative service delivery model for inpatient stroke rehabilitation.PMID:36724415 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2023.2172634

Analyses of weight-bearing asymmetry pattern for standing in the early phase after stroke: a cross-sectional study
CONCLUSION: The non-paretic group had low dynamic balance, severe motor paresis, and trunk dysfunction. The paretic group had lesions in the insula or parietal cortex.PMID:36593735 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2022.2163860

'We don't have to do it together': a qualitative study of physiotherapists' and patients' perceptions about collaborative goal setting in Nigeria
CONCLUSIONS: Though rarely practiced, participants agreed that collaborative goal setting could be beneficial. Both the physiotherapists and patients require education on how to appropriately collaborate in setting goals of rehabilitation.PMID:36447440 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2022.2152645
