Acute ischemic stroke with tandem/terminal ICA occlusion - CT perfusion based case selection for mechanical recanalization
Conclusion: The cerebral blood volume (CBV) core estimation reliably predicted the final infarct volume. The key reasons for the significantly better outcomes seen in our cohort were the stringent perfusion imaging-based patient selection and the rapid reperfusion.

Epidemiology of neurological disorders in India: Review of background, prevalence and incidence of epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease and tremors
M Gourie-DeviNeurology India 2014 62(6):588-598Growth and development of neuroepidemiology in India during the last four decades has been documented highlighting the historical milestones. The prevalence rates of the spectrum of neurological disorders from different regions of the country ranged from 967-4,070 with a mean of 2394 per 100000 population, providing a rough estimate of over 30 million people with neurological disorders (excluding neuroinfections and traumatic injuries). Prevalence and incidence rates of common disorders including epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease and tremors determined through popul...

Association of -1382A>G CCL11 gene variant with ischemic stroke, its subtypes and hemorrhagic stroke in a South Indian population
Conclusion: The results of the present study show that the GG genotype is a significant risk factor for ischemic as well as hemorrhagic stroke. Further, the frequency of the GG genotype was observed to be higher in hemorrhagic stroke patients in comparison with ischemic stroke. Evaluating the association with ischemic stroke subtypes, a significant association was observed with intracranial large artery atherosclerosis and lacunar stroke.

Characteristics of CADASIL in Chinese mainland patients
Conclusions: Most characteristics of Chinese mainland CADASIL patients are similar to those of CADASIL patients living in other regions. However, the prevalence of primary intracerebral hemorrhage and vertigo is much higher in Chinese mainland CADASIL patients. Significant leukoaraiosis in anterior temporal poles on T2-weighted image are uncommon. Exons 3 and 4 are the mutation hotspots.
