Early post-stroke seizures in a sample of Egyptian patients with first-ever stroke
Conclusion: The incidence of early post-stroke seizures was high in our study and was positively associated with a poor functional outcome, a higher in-hospital mortality rate and a longer duration of in-hospital stay. The most important risk factors were ICH, the cortical site of involvement and a large size of the lesion.

The influence of initial stroke severity on mortality, overall functional outcome and in-hospital placement at 90 days following acute ischemic stroke: A tertiary hospital stroke register study
Conclusions: In this acute stroke cohort, initial stroke severity had a major impact on the likelihood of death following an AIS and appears to be the dominant influence on the overall stroke outcome and in-hospital placement.

Association Between Stroke Characteristics and Post-Stroke Fatigue: A Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Our meta-analysis indicated that PSF was closely relevant to stroke type and had no significant relationship with stroke location. However, the findings should be interpreted cautiously. Thus, we suggest an updated meta-analysis on this subject when more comprehensive studies that explore the above issue are available.

Association of -1382A>G CCL11 gene variant with ischemic stroke, its subtypes and hemorrhagic stroke in a South Indian population
Conclusion: The results of the present study show that the GG genotype is a significant risk factor for ischemic as well as hemorrhagic stroke. Further, the frequency of the GG genotype was observed to be higher in hemorrhagic stroke patients in comparison with ischemic stroke. Evaluating the association with ischemic stroke subtypes, a significant association was observed with intracranial large artery atherosclerosis and lacunar stroke.

Frequency and Predictors of Early Seizures Following First Acute Stroke: Data from a University Hospital in South India
Conclusions: The frequency of early onset post-stroke seizures is 11.8%, with most of them occurring within 24 hours. Venous stroke, large lesion, cortical location, supratentorial location, hypercoaguable states, and hyperhomocysteinemia are independent predictors. Duration of hospital stay is increased in patients with early seizures, however, they did not influence the in-hospital mortality.

Impact of Pre-Stroke Antiplatelet Use on 3-Month Outcome After Ischemic Stroke
Conclusion: PAP therapy has no significant effect on initial stroke severity, rates of post-ischemic hemorrhage with or without thrombolysis, in-hospital mortality, stroke recurrence, and 3-month outcome after ischemic stroke.

The evaluation of sexual function in women with stroke
Conclusion: Sexual dysfunction is a commonly seen disorder in women with stroke, and is influenced by the severity of disease, level of dependence and accompanying depression. Therefore, evaluation of sexual dysfunction, depression and levels of physical function should be done in women with stroke during their follow up.

Stroke and the Bovine Aortic Arch: Incidental or Deliberate ? A Comparative Study and our Experience
Conclusions: Bovine aortic arch is a risk factor for young-onset anterior circulation stroke. Bilateral and left-sided infarcts were more common. Endovascular procedures are difficult to perform through conventional routes, so brachioradial access is preferred.

COVID-19 and Stroke Trends in A Tertiary Care Center from South India -Our Monsoon Experience
Conclusion: Our study was a hypothesis-generating study with a limited number of patients. This study has reconfirmed the higher severity of the stroke, with a higher mRS score and mortality during the pandemic, especially among COVID-19-positive stroke patients.

Perioperative Stroke in Carotid Artery Stenting as a Surrogate Marker and Predictor for 30-day Postprocedural Mortality & #8211; A Pooled Analysis of 156,000 Patients with Carotid Artery Disease
Conclusions: Perioperative stroke drastically increases the risk of 30-day mortality. The occurrence of perioperative stroke exhibited high specificity but modest sensitivity in predicting 30-day mortality following CAS. This highlights the importance of neurophysiologic monitoring to detect intraoperative cerebral ischemia and perform timely interventions.

Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score can Predict Severity of Spasticity and Functional Outcome in Ischemic Stroke Survivors
Conclusion: ASPECTS at admission in patients with acute ischemic stroke is a good predictor of post-stroke spasticity and functional walking. Low ASPECTS is associated with higher spasticity and lower functional walking status on follow-up after stroke.
