Conclusions The incidence of ischemic strokes in the MISTIE II trial was low suggesting that the procedure was not likely a contributing factor. CONCLUSIONS • Visualase is a new MRI-guided laser technology often used to treat hard-to-reach and otherwise inoperable brain and spine tumors. The procedure can be performed while a patient is awake and requires only one stitch to close the surgical site.
