On prioritising global health ' s triple crisis of sepsis, COVID-19 and antimicrobial resistance: a mixed-methods study from Malawi.
Conclusion Our analysis revealed strong relationships between in-hospital mortality and hospital case volume in hospitals treating a small number of cases. Based on data from April 2020 to March 2021 (during the Covid-19 pandemic), this report aims to identify which aspects of stroke care need to be improved and how these beneficial changes can enhance outcomes for patients and families during this challenging period. Overall, the report found that, even during the Covid-19 pandemic year, many teams were still able to improve the quality of care through the implementation of evidence-based interventions. However, it also states there is an ongoing need to ensure that such improvements are sustained over the longer term, in line with the NHS long-term plan.

Clinical guide for the management of stroke patients during the coronavirus pandemic, RCP (Updated 16th April 2020 with updates highlighted in yellow)
Much of stroke medicine is in the frontline, with responsibilities involving direct and indirect support to emergency departments (EDs) and admissions units. Most stroke physicians however have dual or triple accreditation in general medicine and/or geriatrics. Therefore some services may need to consider how they extend their roles to release clinicians to support the general emergency medical take and inpatient bed base. We should seek the best local solutions to continue the proper management while developing and protecting resources for the response to coronavirus.
