Conclusion Stoke risk factors are increasing among young people; they still have poor knowledge about SWSs. More education is needed to increase appropriate treatment, especially in young people with stroke-related risk factors.

Comparisons of Stroke Knowledge and Health Behaviors in Patients With Hypertensive Stroke at Different Recurrence Risk Strata: The Comprehensive Reminder System Based on the Health Belief Model Study
Conclusions Most patients incorrectly estimated their risk of stroke recurrence. Communicating with patients about their future risk of recurrent stroke may help improve their stroke knowledge and health behaviors. Implementation of the Comprehensive Reminder System based on the Health Belief Model focusing on risk education aimed at prevention of stroke recurrence is warranted in China.

Direct Cost Related to Stroke: A Longitudinal Analysis of Survivors After Discharge From a Rehabilitation Hospital
Conclusion In the first poststroke year, direct costs have remained stable over time and can be predicted by the level of education and physical functioning. The identification of specific direct cost predictors would be helpful for developing more socially and economically tailored interventions for stroke survivors in their first year after their stroke.

The Efficacy of a Comprehensive Reminder System to Improve Health Behaviors and Blood Pressure Control in Hypertensive Ischemic Stroke Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Conclusion: At 3 months, use of the Comprehensive Reminder System based on the Health Belief Model, yielded improvement in most health behaviors and blood pressure control in hypertensive ischemic stroke patients. Continued implementation of this intervention protocol is warranted to determine the long-term effect. Smoking and alcohol use behaviors need to be targeted with a different intervention.

Cardiovascular Nursing Science Priorities: A Statement From the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing
Conclusion: Five thematic areas and 24 topic areas were identified as priorities for CV nursing research. These findings can provide a guide for CV nurse scientists and for federal and foundational funders to use in developing funding initiatives. We believe additional research and discovery in these thematic areas will help reduce the rising global burden of CV disease.

The Impact of Nurse Staffing on In-Hospital Mortality of Stroke Patients in Korea
Conclusion: Policies to educate sufficient numbers of nurses and retain them in the field are warranted, especially because medical-cost containment has become a dominant concern in most countries. Further studies are needed to understand the mechanisms and other protective roles of nurse staffing to ensure long-term health outcomes after hospital discharge.

Conclusion: Participants younger than 45 years showed the lowest levels of stroke knowledge. The highest stroke knowledge was found in the 45 to 64 years age group. Stroke knowledge among different age groups was similar in both genders. Educational campaigns aimed at increasing knowledge of stroke among the general population and targeting the younger population are recommended.

Family History of Stroke Among African Americans and Its Association With Risk Factors, Knowledge, Perceptions, and Exercise
Conclusions: Family history of stroke was common in this sample; however, it did not translate into better understanding of stroke or better exercise behaviors and intentions. More can be done to identify African Americans with a FHS, especially those with multiple risk factors, to educate them about the significance of FHS while promoting lifestyle change and self-management.
