Cost-effective analysis of mechanical thrombectomy alone in the treatment of acute ischaemic stroke: a Markov modelling study
Conclusions MT alone was cost-effective compared with MT with alteplase in China. However, cautions are needed to extend this conclusion to regions outside of China.

Prognostic significance of first-degree atrioventricular block in a large Asian population: a prospective cohort study
Conclusions Our results indicated that first-degree AVB was an independent risk factor for adverse events, suggesting that it should not be considered as inconsequential factor in general population. These results have potential clinical value for identifying individuals at high risk for adverse outcomes.

Rationale and design of a prospective study evaluating population pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of rivaroxaban in Chinese patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
Introduction Rivaroxaban is one of the most commonly used non-vitamin K antagonists for stroke prevention in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Different individual exposures exist for Asian and non-Asian populations, and dose selection is different for Japanese and non-Japanese subjects. Few studies have investigated the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of rivaroxaban in Chinese patients and provided a solid reference for dose selection and individualised therapy. Methods and analysis This is a single-centre prospective study. Rivaroxaban-treated Chinese NVAF patients will be recruited ...

Association of immunoglobulin G N-glycosylation with carotid atherosclerotic plaque phenotypes and actual clinical cardiovascular events: a study protocol for a longitudinal prospective cohort study
Introduction Immune-inflammatory response plays a key role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. IgG N-glycosylation is reported to be associated with the 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk score and subclinical atherosclerosis. However, the relationship of IgG glycosylation with actual clinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) events and plaque phenotypes has rarely been investigated. Therefore, this study aims to understand whether IgG glycosylation traits are correlated with actual clinical CVD events and plaque phenotypes. Methods and analysis Designed to verify the efficacy of IgG glycosylation as a ri...

rTMS for poststroke pusher syndrome: study protocol for a randomised, patient-blinded controlled clinical trial
Introduction Poststroke pusher syndrome (PS) prevalence is high. Patients with PS require longer rehabilitation with prolonged length of stay. Effective treatment of PS remains a challenge for rehabilitation professionals. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive neuromodulation technique that is effective and recommended in the clinical guidelines of stroke rehabilitation. However, the role of rTMS for PS has not been examined. The study is to assess the efficacy of a specific rTMS programme for patients with PS in reducing pushing behaviour, enhancing motor recovery and improving mobility, as...

Association between recovery/occurrence of metabolic syndrome and rapid estimated glomerular filtration rate decline in middle-aged and older populations: evidence from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study
Conclusions Over the 4-year follow-up period, we found that MetS recovery was associated with a reduced risk of rapid eGFR decline in middle-aged and older adults, while MetS occurrence was not related to rapid eGFR decline. Recovery from MetS appeared to protect against a rapid decline in eGFR.

Prevalence and associated factors of anxiety among the population in an urban area of China: a cross-sectional study
Conclusions Our findings showed an alarmingly high prevalence of anxiety in the population living in an urban area of China. Sleep time <6 hours and waking up suffocating had a significant association with anxiety. These findings suggest that future anxiety prevention programmes in urban areas should incorporate interventions targeted at these factors, such as improving residents’ sleep quality.

Chronic non-communicable diseases: Hainan prospective cohort study
Purpose The Hainan Cohort was established to investigate the incidence, morbidity and mortality of non-communicable diseases and their risk factors in the community population. Participants The baseline investigation of the Hainan Cohort study was initiated in five main areas of Hainan, China, from June 2018 to October 2020. A multistage cluster random-sampling method was used to obtain samples from the general population. Baseline assessments included a questionnaire survey, physical examination, blood and urine sample collection, and laboratory measurements, and outdoor environmental data were obtained. Findings to dat...

Development and validation of dynamic models to predict postdischarge mortality risk in patients with acute myocardial infarction: results from China Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry
Conclusions We established dynamic risk prediction models incorporating adverse event and medications. The nomograms may be useful instruments to help prospective risk assessment and management of AMI. Trial registration number NCT01874691.

Association of trajectories of non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentration with risk of cardiovascular disease: the Kailuan Study
Conclusions Changes in non-HDL-C were significantly associated with subsequent risk of CVD events, and participants with a high-increasing pattern had a higher CVD risk. Long-term monitoring of non-HDL-C could be useful to improve the prediction of CVD risk. Trial registration number ChiCTR-TNC-1100148.

Association of baseline fasting plasma glucose with 1-year mortality in non-diabetic patients with acute cerebral infarction: a multicentre observational cohort study
Conclusion In non-diabetic patients with ACI, elevated baseline FPG is an independent risk factor for 1-year all-cause mortality, and the two are positively and non-linearly associated. These results suggest that high FPG should be seen as a concern in non-diabetic patients with ACI.
