Gerontology and Geriatrics in Dutch medical education.
Conclusion: Geriatric education in the Netherlands does not seem to be in line with current demographic trends. The National Blueprint falls short of providing sufficiently detailed objectives for education on the care of older people. The geriatric content offered by medical schools is varied and incomplete, and students are only marginally tested on their knowledge of G&G in the CIPT. PMID: 23956319 [PubMed - in process]

Serious gaming in internal medicine education: do we know best or do we know last?
Abstract The use of digital tools is indispensable in our daily lives. The medical world keeps up with this progress by implementing digital tools to facilitate and improve patient care, such as eConsults and self-care apps. Serious games are also becoming increasingly popular in healthcare education, particularly in surgical residency training and nursing education. However, gaming and digitisation of education have not been widely integrated in internal medicine residency education yet. Therefore, these programs are not yet modernised to meet the demands of the 21th century physician. In this article, we will ex...

Fendrix ® compared to Engerix® in HIV-infected patients nonresponding to initial- and re-vaccination schedule
CONCLUSION: These results together, suggest that continuing HBV vaccination in non-responders to a first course of single-dose vaccine and a double-dose revaccination scheme is worth the effort. No superiority of one of the investigated hepatitis B vaccines was shown in this cohort but an appropriate number of patients needed to achieve reliable answers was not achieved.PMID:33380535
