Medium-term results of undersized angioplasty and stenting for symptomatic high-grade intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis with Enterprise.
CONCLUSION: In this retrospective single-center study undersized balloon angioplasty and deployment of a self-expandable stent with relatively low radial force was safe and effective for endovascular treatment of high-grade intracranial arterial stenosis with high technical success rate, low periprocedural complication rates and favorable medium-term follow-up results. Resolute onyx stent more effective than wingspan stent at preventing procedural complications and long-term restenosis
CONCLUSION: R-onyx DES is more effective than WSS in treating sICAD with low rates of periprocedural complications and long-term strokes and symptomatic in-stent restenosis. Future prospective randomized multicenter trials are needed.PMID:35635224 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221104633

Use of drug-eluting, balloon-expandable resolute onyx coronary stent as a novel treatment strategy for vertebral artery ostial stenosis: Case series
CONCLUSIONS: We report the first case series of Resolute Onyx drug-eluting stenting including 30-day postprocedure stroke/TIA rates and clinical/radiographic follow up and demonstrate safe and effective treatment of symptomatic and asymptomatic VA ostial stenosis.PMID:36357368 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221138138

Comparative analysis of stenting for carotid web and atherosclerotic disease
CONCLUSION: Stenting for CaW was found to be technically simpler than CAD and not to confer increased risk of baroreceptor dysregulation. Intimal hyperplasia was uncommon in CaW cases.PMID:37563917 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231188856

Balloon-mounting stent for intracranial arterial stenosis: A comprehensive and comparative systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Intracranial stenting with BMS is more effective in reducing the degree of stenosis and has lower rates of complications when compared to SES.PMID:35549530 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221100620

Severe cerebral vasospasm in chronic cocaine users during neurointerventional procedures: A report of two cases.
We report the case of two patients with a history of cocaine abuse, who developed unusual severe vasospasms during different interventional procedures. The first case occurred in a middle-aged woman with an unruptured left internal carotid artery bifurcation aneurysm who was scheduled for treatment by remodelling assisted coiling. Just after the placement of the remodelling balloon, a severe occlusive vasospasm interrupted the procedure. The second case happened to a 46-year-old man with a non-aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage and a symptomatic vasospasm in the right-sided anterior circulation who developed another occlu...

Use of stent retriever for treatment of iatrogenic intracranial vasospasm.
We present a case report of a patient who underwent a mechanical thrombectomy for stroke and suffered from vasospasm. This severe flow-limiting vasospasm was successfully treated with the Trevo stent device. Although stent retrievers have become more widespread for thrombectomy, vasospasm treatment has not been often described in the literature. Further study is needed to determine if this is a viable technique for treating resistant vasospasm. PMID: 31088245 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
