E-078 Advancement in coil technology for treatment of brain aneurysms
ConclusionThis study concludes that is SMART coil system is safe and efficacious for the use in Endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms. The smart coil system is promising in the treatment of wide spectrum of intracranial aneurysms. The result of follow up angiographic data should reflect the high packing density and will be published when completed.Disclosures S. Khairandish: None. S. Pakbaz: None. M. McManus: None. G. E-100 Rescue therapy with self-expandable stenting versus medical therapy after failed mechanical thrombectomy for acute large vessel occlusion stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionOur study showed that, when compared to patients treated with best medical management, patients who received rescue therapy with SES after failed mechanical thrombectomy had a higher chances of functional independence, with lower mortality and similar sICH. However due to serious risk of bias and significant heterogeneity in the studies included, randomized trials using a standard technique and independently adjudicated outcomes are needed to confirm our results.Disclosures J. E-105 Validation of rapid noncontrast stroke CT platform for ICH and LVO detection
ConclusionThe RAPID NCCT Stroke platform demonstrated superior performance to radiologists for detecting LVO from a NCCT. This could lead to earlier identification of LVO and faster treatment times. Prospective studies are needed for further validation.Abstract E-105 Table 1 Reader Description Hypothesis N Readers Rapid Reader SE (Readers) P value Average of all general radiologists Superiority 8 0.635 0.409 0.065 0.001 Average of all Readers Non-inferiority 11 0.635 0.436 0.055 <.0001 Average of neuroradiologists Non-inferiority 3 0.635 0.051 0.061 0.008 Disclosures V. E-107 Carotid artery stenting in patients with symptomatic non-stenotic carotid artery disease - a case series
ConclusionsIn this case series performed over a 10-year period at a high-volume stroke center we show that CAS is safe and efficient in patients with SyNC. Previous studies have established safety and effectiveness of CES in patients presenting with SyNC, however there is a paucity of reports in the literature regarding the effect of CAS in this patient population. Recent guidelines have brought specific attention to high-risk plaque characteristics which suggest that plaque instability plays a major role in the onset of ischemic events, regardless of lumen narrowing. Advanced imaging techniques, such as Optical Coherence ...

E-025 The rate and predictors of 30-day readmission in patients treated for cerebral aneurysms: a large single-center study
ConclusionIn our study, risk factors for 30-day readmission were increasing BMI, cancer, increasing aneurysm width, and anticoagulation use. Future studies should focus on aneurysm dimensions and the use of blood thinners as the literature pertaining these predictors is still scarce.Abstract E-025 Table 1 Variables N(%) 30-day Readmission 36 (6.6) Cause of Readmission: Infection Stroke Re-Rupture Wound Dehiscence Seizures CSF Leak Hydrocephalus Headache Wound Area Swelling Groin Hematoma Pseudo meningocele 9 (25)11 (30.6)1 (2.8)1 (2.8)1 (2.8)1 (2.8)1 (2.8)7 (19.4)2 (5.6)1 (2.8)1 (2.8) Causes and Rate of ReadmissionAbstrac...

E-030 Incidence and risk factors for new seizure after ischemic stroke in a single institution series
DiscussionThe literature on new onset seizures after stroke describes a range of incidences and risk factors, as there is variation in the studied populations. Here we report the incidence of post-stroke seizures in all patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke in a 3-year period. The most significant predictor was hemorrhagic transformation, and this was driven by IPH.Disclosures K. Carroll: None. E. Federico: None. I. Stafstrom: None. E. Skinner: None. M. Maraghe: None. M. E-044 Long-term safety and efficacy of pipeline embolization device compared in anterior and posterior circulation aneurysms: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThe long-term occlusion rate after PED was higher in AC aneurysms and the cumulative incidence of ischemic complications and aneurysm rupture was significantly higher in PC. The intracranial hemorrhage rate was not different. More extensive studies are required to identify factors predisposing to incomplete occlusion and postprocedural complications.Disclosures E. E-061 Glycoprotein inhibitors as a standalone post-thrombectomy rescue treatment for intracranial atherosclerotic disease-related stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThese findings highlight the potential value of GPIs as a viable first line therapy for EVT rescue therapy in the setting of ICAD. This study was limited by the nature of the literature, which were non-randomized observational studies. Randomized controlled trials are needed to validate and refine our understanding of the role of GPIs in the management of refractory or re-occlusive ICAD stroke.Disclosures A. Brake: None. C.
