Predictors of In-Hospital Ischemic Stroke During Acute Myocardial Infarction Hospitalizations (P6.043)
CONCLUSIONS: The higher association of increasing age, sex and race with Ischemic stroke is depicted. The patients who undergo by-pass graft procedure are more likely to develop stroke. Therefore, further studies are warranted for improved risk stratification in AMI patients.Disclosure: Dr. Shah has nothing to disclose. Dr. Patel has nothing to disclose. Neonatal seizures triple the risk of a remote seizure after perinatal ischemic stroke
Conclusions: Remote seizures and epilepsy, including medically refractory epilepsy, are common after perinatal stroke. Neonatal seizures are associated with nearly 3-fold increased remote seizure risk.

Accelerated development of cerebral small vessel disease in young stroke patients
Conclusions: Patients with a young stroke have a higher burden of small vessel disease than controls adjusted for confounders. Cerebral aging seems accelerated by 10–20 years in these patients, which may suggest an increased vulnerability to vascular risk factors.

Increasing comorbidity and health services utilization in older adults with prior stroke
Conclusions: Our findings demonstrate the importance of community-based patient-centered care strategies for stroke survivors that address their range of health needs and prevent more costly acute care use.

Blood pressure levels and the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage after ischemic stroke
Conclusions: Among patients with recent noncardioembolic ischemic stroke, the risk of ICH is high. High SBP and DBP are associated with an increased risk of ICH. The association between BP and ICH is not dependent on ischemic stroke subtype.

Incidence and predictors of epilepsy after pediatric arterial ischemic stroke
Conclusions: RSS and epilepsy are important neurologic sequelae of pediatric AIS. Children with perinatal stroke and CAIS with acute symptomatic seizures are at increased risk of these outcomes. These cohorts need further study to identify biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for epileptogenesis.

A rare cause of stroke in young: PHACE syndrome (P1.253)
Conclusions:Neurocutaneous syndromes are typically diagnosed in childhood and can be a rare cause of stroke in young. Our patient suffered an ischemic stroke secondary to sequelae of undiagnosed PHACE syndrome. Early identification of neurocutaneous syndromes allows for proper surveillance, evaluation, and preventative education for development of complications.Disclosure: Dr. Fitzgerald has nothing to disclose. Evaluation and Validation of Prehospital Acute Stroke Scale to Predict Large Vessel Occlusion in Patients with Proven Large Vessel Occlusion- Single Center study in US (P1.274)
Conclusions:The PASS tool is simple, quick, and easy to perform and has high sensitivity in AIS patients with LVO. To assess its value and efficacy in real time it should be implemented into EMS systems and be performed in the pre-hospital setting.Disclosure: Dr. E-Ghanmh has nothing to disclose. Does Prior Use of Beta Blockers Affect Functional Outcomes Post Ischemic Stroke Endovascular Intervention? (P5.296)
Conclusions:Prior use of beta blockers did not lead to better functional outcomes (MRS ≤2) in acute ischemic stroke patients undergoing EVI. External Validation of the TeleStroke Mimic (TM) Score for Predicting Stroke Mimics Evaluated during Telestroke (S25.004)
Conclusions:As telestroke consultation expands, increasing numbers of SM patients are being evaluated. The TM score correctly predicted the presence of a SM in these diverse cohorts just as well as in our original cohort. Decision-support tools based on predictive models, like the TM score, may help highlight key clinical differences during complex, time-critical telestroke evaluations.Disclosure: Dr. Ali has nothing to disclose. Integrity of normal-appearing white matter and functional outcomes after acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions: FA decrease in NAWM contralateral to the acute infarct is associated with worse mRS category at 90 days after stroke. These data suggest that white matter integrity may contribute to functional recovery after stroke.

Some light in the shadows of atrial fibrillation and stroke: To look or not to look
In ischemic stroke, the diagnostic workup determines the best preventive strategy. However, cryptogenic stroke accounts for about 20%–40% of all strokes.1 For these patients, the best preventive treatment remains unknown, and most guidelines recommend risk factor modification and antiplatelet therapy. Given the substantial recurrence rate for cryptogenic stroke, this is not a comfortable situation: just try to tell your stroke patients, "After all these tests, I do not have any clue why you had a stroke"; and about the treatment, "Just take an aspirin and cross fingers you do not have another one."
