Macrocalcification of intracranial vertebral artery may be related to in-stent restenosis: lessons learned from optical coherence tomography
Conclusions This study suggests a potential relationship between macrocalcifications and the risk of in-stent restenosis of the intracranial vertebral artery. These preliminary findings obtained from a limited sample should be verified by prospective large-scale studies.

E-067 Institutional trends in mechanical thrombectomy: lessons learned
Conclusions: Preliminary data suggest that thrombectomy is a safe procedure that results in extremely low mortality and significant decreases NIH score over time, which may point to better functional outcome. Overall, there was an improvement in NIHSS reduction with time. Additionally, achieving faster times to recanalization resulted in better improvements in NIHSS. There was a significant difference in the ability of different techniques to achieve first-pass recanalization, though this may reflect clinical judgments about when to use each technique. Future acute ischemic stroke trials should randomize on the angio table
Perhaps in order to move forward we need to take a lesson from the past. The only two positive randomized trials of intra-arterial therapy to date are PROACT II and MELT.1 2 In both of those cases, randomization occurred on the table, after angiographic confirmation of proximal vessel occlusion. Outcomes of tailored angioplasty and/or stenting for symptomatic intracranial atherosclerosis: a prospective cohort study after SAMMPRIS
Conclusions Individualized treatment of ICAD using tailored devices according to arterial access and lesion morphology was feasible and safe in symptomatic patients caused by hypoperfusion with poor collateral flow.
