Risk of epilepsy in stroke patients receiving acupuncture treatment: a nationwide retrospective matched-cohort study
Conclusions Stroke patients who received acupuncture treatment had a reduced risk of epilepsy compared with those not receiving acupuncture treatment. However, the protective effects associated with acupuncture treatment require further validation in prospective cohort studies.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for upper limb motor function and activities of daily living in patients with stroke: a protocol of a systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis
Introduction Patients with stroke usually suffer from varying degrees of movement dysfunction, which seriously affects their quality of life, especially for the upper limb dysfunction. Therefore, this study aims to compare the effects of different repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) modalities on upper limb motor function and daily activities in patients with stroke. Methods and analysis Relevant research will be collected systematically from PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, ProQuest, Wanfang Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Chinese Scientific and Journal Database (VIP...

Imaging predictors of poststroke depression: methodological factors in voxel-based analysis
Conclusions This study provided inconclusive evidence for the association between infarcts in a specific region and poststroke depression.

Burden of neurological diseases in Asia from 1990 to 2019: a systematic analysis using the Global Burden of Disease Study data
Conclusions This study demonstrated the burden of neurological diseases in Asia. To reduce the burden of neurological diseases, strategies suitable for each country’s real healthcare needs and challenges are needed; this study can serve as the cornerstone of these strategies.

National Audit of Seizure management in Hospitals (NASH): results of the national audit of adult epilepsy in the UK
Conclusions These results have parallels with the Sentinel Audit of Stroke performed a decade earlier. There is wide intersite variability in care covering the entire care pathway, and a need for better organised and accessible care for these patients.

Sex differences in neurology: a scoping review protocol
This study will aid in mapping recent trends in sex differences in four major neurological conditions and will help identify areas for further research. A manuscript will be compiled for publication and presentations of findings. Registration details The final protocol is registered with the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/n937x/).

Clinical code usage in UK general practice: a cohort study exploring 18 conditions over 14 years
Conclusions This is an under-reported research area and the findings suggest the codes’ usage diversity for most conditions remained overall stable throughout the study period. Generated mental health code lists can last for a long time unlike cardiometabolic conditions and cancer. Adopting more consistent and less diverse coding would help improve data quality in primary care. Future research is needed following the transfer to the Systematised Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) coding.

Sex differences in neurology: a scoping review
Conclusions Sex and gender are important biological and social determinants of health. However, the more explicit recognition of these factors in clinical literature has not been adequately translated to significant change in neuroscience research regarding sex differences. This study illustrates the ongoing need for more urgent informed action to recognise and act on sex differences in scientific discovery and correct the use of sex and gender terminology. Trial Registration The protocol for this scoping review was registered with Open Science Framework.
