What Causes Facial Nerve Palsy?
Discussion Facial nerve palsy has been known for centuries, but in 1821 unilateral facial nerve paralysis was described by Sir Charles Bell. Bell’s palsy (BP) is a unilateral, acute facial paralysis that is clinically diagnosed after other etiologies have been excluded by appropriate history, physical examination and/or laboratory testing or imaging. A Rare Case of Central Nervous System Tuberculosis Presenting as Transient Splenial Lesion: Case Report and Literature Review (P1.320)
Conclusions:Based on literature review, the transient splenial lesion of corpus callosum has never been reported in patients with CNS tuberculosis. The mechanisms underlying transient splenial lesions may due to intramyelinic edema and inflammatory cell infiltration. This hypothesis supported by the MR spectroscopy findings in our patient.
