Dabigatran for stroke prevention in real life in a sample of population from Turkey: D-SPIRIT registry
CONCLUSION: This registry obtained an important overview of the current safety and effectiveness of the dabigatran etexilate in Turkey. Our results indicate similar rates of thromboembolic and bleeding events with pivotal phase 3 trial and other real-life registries. However, rate of undertreatment usage of dabigatran etexilate in real life was found to be considerable.PMID:34881702 | DOI:10.5543/tkda.2021.07734

Gender-related differences in presentation and treatment of patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation: results from RAMSES study.
CONCLUSION: Although women with NVAF receive better treatment than men, anticoagulation therapy is suboptimal in large proportion of men and women, with underuse in high-risk patients and overuse in low-risk patients. There is an urgent need to improve optimization of anticoagulation in patients with NVAF. PMID: 28106016 [PubMed - in process]

Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system blockers and cardiovascular outcomes: a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
CONCLUSION: RAAS blockers are superior to medications other than RAAS blockers with respect to impact on CV outcomes in patients with hypertension. ARBs and ACEIs are comparable in terms of these outcomes. PMID: 28106020 [PubMed - in process]

Use of TIMI Risk Index as a Simple and Valuable Prognostic Tool in Patients with ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Who Underwent Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
CONCLUSION: The results of this study indicated that Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction Risk Index value is an independent predictor of clinical outcomes such as death and heart failure but not subsequent myocardial infarction in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients. The use of Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction Risk Index can be considered in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention as it is an easily applicable and important indicator of prognosis.PMID:35450843 | DOI:10.5152/tkda.2022.21143
