Investigation of the Postoperative Complications Rate and Predictors in Patients Undergoing Surgery due to Associated Carotid and Coronary Occlusive Disease.
CONCLUSION: Simultaneous CEA and CABG were performed with low rates of stroke and TIA. Previous stroke was identified as a predictor for increased postoperative neurological complications. PMID: 31596717 [PubMed - in process]

The Effects of Amino Acids Enriched Del Nido Cardioplegia on Myocardial Leucocyte Accumulation and Ventricular Functions in Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery
CONCLUSION: Our study findings show that glutamate-aspartate supplemented del Nido cardioplegia significantly decrease myocardial PMNL accumulation with reduced release of biochemical markers, including cardiac troponin-I, TNF-alpha, and Pro-Bnp. Our study results demonstrated that amino acids supplementation in del Nido cardioplegia has some advantages in CABG patients, including the decrease of perioperative myocardial infarction and increase significantly the left ventricular functions including ventricular SVI and CI.PMID:33635267 | DOI:10.1532/hsf.3265

Effects of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting on Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Reduced Ejection Fraction Heart Failure and Coronary Heart Disease: A Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The mortality rates of PCI and CABG were similar in patients with CHD complicated with HFrEF. Compared with PCI, CABG had a lower incidence of MACE, MI, HF, and revascularization, and a higher incidence of stroke or TIA.PMID:36856505 | DOI:10.1532/hsf.5169
