Family Physician Prescribing Practices and Perspectives on Shared Decision-Making Regarding the Use of Oral Anticoagulants for Stroke Prevention in Patients 75  Years or Older With Atrial Fibrillation
CONCLUSION: Family physicians strongly consider patient risks and utilize risk-assessment tools when initiating OAC in older adults with AF. Despite all physicians reporting the use of shared decision-making and that their patients were educated on the indications for OAC, confidence in initiating treatment was variable. Further exploration into factors impacting physician confidence is needed.PMID:36960556 | DOI:10.1177/21501319231164060

The effectiveness of atrial fibrillation special clinic on oral anticoagulant use for high risk atrial fibrillation patients managed in the community
CONCLUSION: AFSC is effective in enhancing OAC use and maintaining optimal modifiable CVD risk factor control among high risk AF patients managed in primary care setting, and therefore may reduce AF-associated morbidity and mortality in the long run.PMID:36788489 | PMC:PMC9926793 | DOI:10.1186/s12875-023-02004-w

An Observational Study Comparing the Safety and Efficacy of Conventional Anticoagulation Versus New Oral Anticoagulants in the Management of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis
Conclusion: NOACs were found to be at least as good as conventional anticoagulation for the management of CVST. However, efficacy was almost similar, a finding that is consistent with most of the published case series and the few recently published prospective studies. Larger prospective and population-based studies are needed to clarify our preliminary results.PMID:34818472 | DOI:10.4088/PCC.21m02927
