These 10 Cities Are Choking On The Planet's Worst Air Pollution
Urban air pollution is on the rise and, to little surprise, those living in some of the world's poorest cities are breathing in the worst of it.
The World Health Organization on Thursday released updated data showing more than 80 percent of city residents around the globe are exposed to particulate pollution in doses that exceed the organization's recommended limits.
"Urban air pollution continues to rise at an alarming rate, wreaking havoc on human health," Dr. Maria Neira, WHO's public health director, said in a statement.

Smoking Causes More Kinds Of Deaths Than We Ever Thought
Breast cancer, prostate cancer, and even routine infections. A new report ties these and other maladies to smoking and says an additional 60,000 to 120,000 deaths each year in the United States are probably due to tobacco use.
The study by the American Cancer Society and several universities, published in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine, looks beyond lung cancer, heart disease and other conditions already tied to smoking, and the 480,000 U.S. deaths attributed to them each year.
