Radiography students' lived experiences during the coronavirus pandemic: A letter to our peers
We hope you are doing well. We want to share our experiences as radiography students amid the COVID-19 pandemic in central South Africa. Like infants born during the pandemic, we are also referred to as COVID-Babies because the COVID-19 pandemic commenced in our first year as radiography students. We were on campus for only two months when the South African national alert level 5 lockdown started at midnight on 26 March 2020. Our government instructed us to return home, which for most of us was outside the city where the campus is based.

Give all NHS staff a wage rise immediately of at least £2k, says UNISON
  A pay claim submitted by UNISON to the government today (Friday) would see every NHS employee receive an increase of at least £2,000 by the end of this year. UNISON – which is the UK’s biggest union and represents NHS staff including healthcare assistants, radiographers, porters, midwives and paramedics – says this rise is the equivalent of around £1 an hour for all staff. Turn appreciation and applause for NHS staff into  an early wage rise, say health unions
The government should build on the huge public support shown for the NHS during the pandemic by giving health workers across the UK an early pay rise, say health unions today (Friday).
