UN Environment and WHO agree to major collaboration on environmental health risks
UN Environment and WHO have agreed a new, wide-ranging collaboration to accelerate action to curb environmental health risks that cause an estimated 12.6 million deaths a year. WHO Director-General: invest in health to end plague in Madagascar

Up to 650 000 deaths annually are associated with respiratory diseases from seasonal influenza, according to new estimates by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US-CDC), WHO and global health partners. Uganda ends Marburg virus disease outbreak
Uganda has successfully controlled an outbreak of Marburg virus disease and prevented its spread only weeks after it was first detected, the World Health Organization said on Friday (December 8). “Uganda has led an exemplary response. Dementia: number of people affected to triple in next 30 years
As the global population ages, the number of people living with dementia is expected to triple from 50 million to 152 million by 2050. "Nearly 10 million people develop dementia each year, 6 million of them in low- and middle-income countries," says Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO. "The suffering that results is enormous.
