The effect of systematic conversion to generic Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) in kidney transplantation;A single center clinical experience from Japan.
Recently, more and more generic drugs have been used for immunosuppressive drugs in the field of organ transplantation. Some reports have indicated that blood concentration of most generic drugs is difficult to maintain stability, and it may cause the difference in graft survival of transplanted organs between original drugs and generic drugs. In this article, we report the cases could not maintain blood concentration of generic drugs of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF). (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Infusion of lymphocytes treated with 8-methoxypsoralen and ultraviolet A light induces CD19+IL-10+ regulatory B cells and promotes skin allograft survival
Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) represents an alternative to immunosuppression, as a means of reducing rejection after thoracic organ transplantation. The mechanism by which ECP exerts its protective effects, until now, has remained elusive. Infusion of ECP-treated splenic lymphocytes (PUVA-SP) can induce CD4+CD25highFoxp3+ regulatory T cells. However, the regulatory effect of PUVA-SP on B cells remains poorly understood. In the present study, we measured IL-10 secretion from CD19+ B cells of peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Combined liver-kidney transplantation in children: single center experiences and long-term results
Combined liver-kidney transplantation (CLKT) is a rare procedure in pediatric patients, in which liver and kidney from one donor are transplanted to a recipient during single operation. The aim of our study was the retrospective analysis of indications and results of CLKT in children (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Efficacy and Safety of Induction Therapy in Kidney Transplantation: A Network Meta-Analysis
Rejection and infection can occur after kidney transplantation and are important factors in preserving graft kidney function. The use of immunosuppressant agents in transplantation is therefore important, and the question of which induction therapy should be used as an immunosuppressant is controversial. CYP3A5*3 Genetic Polymorphism and Tacrolimus Concentration in Myanmar Renal Transplant Patients
Genetic polymorphism is an important factor that influences tacrolimus concentrations and has the potential to predict the optimal dosage of tacrolimus in personalized medicine. Tacrolimus, a drug of narrow therapeutic index, is used in renal transplant recipients as an immunosuppressant agent. It is a substrate of cytochrome P450 3A (CYP3A) and has highly variable pharmacokinetic parameters. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Application of the Revised Cardiac Risk Index to the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease Score Improves the Prediction of Cardiac Events in Patients Undergoing Liver Transplantation
Although the revised cardiac risk index (RCRI) is a useful tool for estimating the risk of postoperative cardiac events, whether it improves the prediction of cardiac events in patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT) has not been sufficiently demonstrated. Duodenal Ulcer as a Postoperative Complication in the Donor in Living-Donor Liver Transplantation
Donor safety is one of the most important factors in living-donor liver transplantation. Duodenal ulcer (DU) is a common postoperative complication. Here we aimed to reveal the risk factors associated with postoperative DU in the donors. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Is the Clinical Outcome Good or Bad in Patients Hospitalized Within 1 Year After Kidney Transplantation?
Although the hospitalization rate at early period of kidney transplantation (KT) is still high, the association between the hospitalization within 1 year after KT and graft survival is unclear. We investigated the incidence and causes of hospitalization and clinical outcome of the patients hospitalized within 1 year after KT. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Predictive Factors of Liver Dysfunction After Right Hemihepatectomy for Adult Living Donor Liver Transplantation
Living liver donors represent a special group of patients. They are healthy individuals who are exposed to a major surgery, in which the dominant liver proportion is extracted as a graft. Of all potential donor-related morbidities, posthepatectomy liver dysfunction (PHLD) is the most significant as it may be directly related to donor mortality. We aimed to review our data of adult living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) utilizing the right hemiliver grafts to determine the incidence and potential predictors for the development of PHLD, defined according to the International Study Group of Liver Surgery. Urinary Liver Type Fatty Acid Binding Protein Is Negatively Associated With Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate in Renal Transplant Recipients With Graft Loss
Liver type fatty acid binding protein (L-FABP) is abundant not only in the liver but also in the kidney and is excreted in urine. Its primary function is to facilitate intracellular long chain fatty acid transport and it might also act as an endogenous antioxidant molecular. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether plasma or urinary L-FABP levels were associated with graft function in renal transplant recipients. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)
